My Son Sanctuary is located 50 km from Hoi An in the most beautiful valley. The area consists of more than 70 bricks and sandstone towers, which were built from the 7th to the 13th century for worshipping Hinduism.
My Son, considered to be in the same league as some of Southeast Asia’s greatest archaeological sites, including Angkor in Cambodia, Bagan in Myanmar, Ayutthaya in Thailand and Borobudur in Indonesia.
The French archeologists found My Son by the end of 19th century. It has been restored and reserved constantly. My Son was recognized as World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1999.
